Rugged Wood Treatment
is a

Once applied
Rugged
changes the natural color of the wood to a warm silver gray. To speed up the aging process of the wood, let the wood dry for 1 to 2 days in normal conditions, then wet the wood with water every day for 10 days with a garden hose. The look and color of the wood can vary based on your wood species, how many knots and unique figure each board has, and if it’s rough sawn, sanded, or planed wood.

Rugged Wood Treatment Stain

Each bag of
Rugged Wood Treatment
contains enough powder that you mix with 5 gallons of water.  We recommend mixing it 1/4 cup per gallon. You can mix as small of a batch at a time as you want as long as it’s mixed to the correct ratio. (Example mix 1 tablespoon per quart of water, or mix the whole bag 1-1/4 cups for 5 gallons of water.) This product comes in a nice resealable bag and will have
a very long shelf life
if left in powder form so you can use it for future
DIY
projects.
When you first mix it up some of the product may not dissolve completely but that’s normal, stir for 5 minutes then stir occasionally during use.
We recommend testing a small sample of wood first
since different species of wood will take treatment and coloring differently.

Application is easy
, use airless sprayer, pump sprayer, brush, roller, or dip wood in solution for several minutes. If using a sprayer, mix and let sit for 5 minutes. Stir well, and strain before putting in sprayer. Make sure wood is clean and dry. Apply generously so it covers well. Make sure all surfaces have been completely covered.
Some wood surfaces will not show change immediately t
his is normal.
After exposure to sun and rain the treatment will react with the wood and gradually change the color to a rich silver gray or dark brown patina depending on your wood type.
Only one treatment is ever needed
unless the product wasn’t applied evenly. Simply reapply generously. It can be applied to bare, untreated, and pressure treated wood including fresh cuts, end grains, cracks or knots.

The dry powder concentrate is acidic and should be handled with care.
